[ WHAT'S IN HER BAG ]
Mar. 15th, 2012 12:36 amSo we were talking about bedninja in chan & I decided to post with Hina's bedtime regimen. First, she snuggles into her pajamas. That's right cute, fashionable yet also v. conservative. Not to mention easy to move around in.
Now we know Hina is a v. ---- how shall I say this? She isn't really the type to wear make-up, at least not much of it. When she does use make-up it's to create a v. subtle & natural look. The reason I say this is because despite how natural she is, she's also a fashion designer. & in fashion make-up DOES count because you need make-up to create a whole new world along with the outfit that's being worn. It's not just make-up or fashion-- it's ART. The v. definition of someone's face can be changed into a completely new person or persona. The same goes for an outfit that someone wears. These things add to personality as well. So of course Hina is going to be fashion conscious & wear some make-up when it's necessary. Yes, NECESSARY. She normally doesn't wear make-up. But when she does, she knows how to utilize it so that she doesn't have to use much to get the look she wants. BB cream, some eyeliner, a bit of mascara, a light tint of blush as well as a lipbalm. Sometimes she'll use an earthy shade of eyeshadow along her crease to create depth.
She also does different things with her hair, too. When she gets really dressed up, she puts it up in a high ponytail & then curls the ends. She likes waving the ends when she leaves it down too, ( all of which can be achieved with one v. good straightener ) as well as putting them in pigtails or just going with the windblown down look.
[ LIST OF THINGS HINA USES ]
She washes her face with Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. Because a fresh face is necessary. It's also a v. good product for its price because Hina doesn't like spending too much money on things; she grew up on a tight budget in her household so she's used to either finding things on sale, for cheap or she buys things that are worth the price. Yes, she's a fashion designer, but she's also practical. If she does spend a lot of money on these things it's only because she knows it's worth it or because she put in extra hours @ work so she could obtain the little luxuries she wants.
She used to use Fairy Drops Mascara because it's considered to be one of the best ones, esp. in the asian world. It's pricey, yes, but it's also worth the price because of how well it works. But she stopped using it because even though it made her lashes pretty, she hated having such heavy gunk on her lashes. Nowadays, she usually uses $1.99 clear mascara on her lashes as well as on her eyebrows.
Skin79 Pink BBCREAM is used because it's not that she has bad skin, seeing as she takes good care of it. But she uses it because it's lighter than foundation, A) a good tint B) Good for your skin C) has the triple threat of whitening, SPF, wrinkle free. Not only that, but BBcream isn't really make-up. It's more like a tinted moisturizer that lets your skin breathe. The price also depends on where you get it, so you can get it pretty cheap if you play your cards right.
Eyeliner, she uses Mac fluidline in Blacktrack because gel eyeliners are seriously fucking awesome. She doesn't really like pencils much or liquid eyeliner. But the eyeliner is rarely used; she just has this on hand for when she DOES need to wear it for like an formal party or something. Again, it's kind of expensive, but this is the type of eyeliner that is worth the price.
Lip Service Lip Balm from Lush. Ankh's not the only one who shops here! & she's not the type to wear lip gloss or lipstick. It's too dramatic even with nude colors. & lipgloss is too gunky & gets in the way when she wants to eat. Also, the price isn't too bad.
& for the v. rare times she wears eyeshadow, she uses Urban Decay Primer Potion before she puts it on because this is necessary so that the eyeshadow doesn't crease up & to make it last longer. Yes, it's pricey but you get a lot of product for what you pay; especially when you depot it. You have to cut it in half because the stick doesn't get all of it, so you basically have a lot left over.
As for eyeshadow, she usually sticks to earthy tones & keeps L'oreal's Infallible Eyeshadow in Taupe on hand. Or Maybelline Eye Studio Tattoo Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze. Both of these eyeshadows are extremely pigmented for their price. But she doesn't really wear eyeshadow most of the time. When she does it's because she's getting pretty for a big show or an important party.
For blush, she uses ones like Tarte Amazonian Clay in Exposed. It's not a PINK blush because pink is a bit too much for her & I honestly think that most pink shades would look v . . . childish on her. & her type of character isn't childish. It's a bit more mature than that. So she likes the more natural shades instead. She also wouldn't mind using the Buff shade either. The orchid shade in Benefit Hervana Blush is also a shade she prefers as well. These aren't necessarily the blushes she has on hand because they're way too expensive for her tastes, but these are the shades that she would wear.
For moisturizer, she just uses plain cocoa butter. Cheap, efficient & does its job.
For perfume, she uses DKNY: Be Delicious Fresh Blossom: A blend of sparkling grapefruit, cassis, & sunkissed apricot meets a blooming floral heart of sheer muguet & petally rose wrapped in luminous jasmine. A base of juicy apple, mingled with lingering blond woods & smooth skin accord, completes the irresistibly sensual experience of the essence. I am sorry, but I think this is the type of perfume that represents Hina. It's a v. fresh & feminine scent. Believe me, I know. I've tried so many different perfumes so I know which ones go well with Hina's type of character.
As I said before & uh basically kept repeating, normally she'll just use the lip balm in everyday wear. & the masque to wash her face every night, as well as the cocoa butter to moisturize. But the make-up above is mostly stuff she'll use if she needs to. For dates, or parties & etc. Like they are basically the staple needs of a girl who doesn't wear a lot of make-up.
[ Yes, I am a dickface & think of things like make-up/fashion = personality for my characters. SO WHAT? I like thinking & essaying about different facets of a character's personality! Don't judge me! Also, I keep thinking I'm forgetting some things, but it's 1:36AM & I should get to sleep. If I think up anything more, I'll come back & edit this post ]
